Principal Youth Roles

Tiny Tim - A ghost of the beloved Dickens’ character in A Christmas Carol.  He still has a bit of a limp and walks with a cane, but his wise guy insights are beyond reproach.  He comes to the 21st century USA in order to haunt his great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandson…Timothy Cratchit, Esquire , who he believes has lost the human spirit of Christmas.

Mia - Oldest daughter of Archie Archabald. Loves her Dad and Sis, she’ll be responsible for her sister if her Dad goes to prison. Would like Archie to avoid prison by providing the prosecutor with the information he needs.

Sophia -  Younger Archibald daughter. Has trouble understanding why her Dad is being sent to prison.  Quite emotional.  Lots of tears.

Belinda - Oldest Cratchit child. Terrible conflict with her father. Bold in her defiance of him.

Martha - Middle Cratchit child.  Tries to be a peace maker, but she’s also disappointed in her Dad.

Peter- Youngest Cratchit child.  Excited to be a Christmas Skunk in the school Christmas play.

Secondary Youth Roles

During one of Tiny Tim’s hauntings,  Cratchit is returned to his fifth grade classroom at Dayton Elementary school where he witnesses these characters from his past.

Young Cratchit-  Fairly obnoxious Christmas hater.  Urges Emily to skip the 5th grade play and go to the movies with him.

Young Emily-   She likes Young Cratchit, but won’t cut-out on the play.  She’s quite generous and helps Young Harrison overcome his shyness and speech problem.  

Young Harrison-  Very shy 5th grader.  Reluctant to be in the school play.  But Emily encourages him and he is successful.  Since then he’s held Emily in highest esteem.  In fact, he’s smitten by her.

Robert-  5th grade classmate who would rather pull the curtain than say any lines in the Christmas play.

Michelle-  Another 5th grader in the Christmas play.

Miss Crabtree -  5th grade teacher at Dayton Elementary School.  In charge of the Christmas Play.

Judge-  Adjudicator in the trial of Archie Archabald

Ensemble- 8-12 singers/dancers/ classmates

Adult Roles

Cratchit-  A 21st century criminal lawyer, he a distant descendant of (Tiny) Tim Cratchit.  He’s lost his sense of humanity.  He’s unreasonably unkind to everyone…including his wife and children.  His family loves him dearly, but are hugely concerned about him.

Emily-  Cratchit’s wife.  A loving mother and wife who is doing her best to mediate between her husband’s ungracious behavior and her children’s need for a loving father.

Archie Archibald-  A Runyonesque, good natured, streetwise character, who has engaged in petty misdeeds on behalf of higher elements of organized crime.  Because he has refused to name names, he ’s  facing prison and a lengthy separation from his cherished daughters.

Harrison-  The drama director at the Cratchit children’s school. He maintains a long held crush on Emily Cratchit.

Mugsy - Mob boss.  Strong silent type.  No words….just grunts.

Trixie - Mugsy’s assistant. High ambition, but low results.  Longs for her big break.
